Bagley to serve on national board

Dr. C. Pat Bagley, head of the North Mississippi Research and Extension Center, was recently elected to a national board.

Bagley will begin a two-year term in July on the Council of Agricultural Science and Technology board of directors.

This is the 25th year for CAST, a society that includes more than 2,600 individual members, 33 professional societies which represent more than 200,000 individuals, five associate societies, 11 company members, and 140 nonprofit organizations.

In addition to the United States, CAST membership also represents 32 foreign countries.

Headquartered in Ames, Iowa, CAST has been responsible for a number of publications that seek to provide scientifically-based information on a number of subjects, ranging from the environment to antibiotic use to food safety.

The North Mississippi Research and Extension Center, part of the Division of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine, is located in Verona.
