Students Adam Chronister, left, and Chris Sowers load some recyclables into the new van recently purchased for the Physical Plant-operated recycling program. A $15,000 grant from the state Department of Environmental Quality helped procure the 1996 step-van, which replaces an older secondhand vehicle. The five-year-old program, now a partial joint effort with Starkville, recycles nearly 640 tons of paper, cardboard, compost, and other materials each year.
