

A faculty member is receiving recognition from a national engineering society.
Rebecca Toghiani, associate professor of chemical engineering, is receiving the Joseph J. Martin Award from the American Society of Engineering Education. It annually recognizes the outstanding paper presented in the chemical engineering division during the society's national meeting.
She will receive official recognition for her award-winning paper, titled "Entropy: Esoteric Concept or Utility Infielder?" at ASEE's national conference which will be held June 15-18 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
In 1996, Toghiani received the Dow Outstanding New Faculty Award for the Southeastern section of the ASEE. She is a John Grisham Master Teacher.
A faculty member since 1989, Toghiani has also held positions at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and the University of Missouri-Columbia where she received her Ph.D. in chemical engineering.
