

Dr. R. Dan Brook is the new head of the Department of Computer Applications and Services with the Mississippi Cooperative Extension Service.
Brook, a professor and assistant head of the Department of Technology and Education, has been a member of the teaching faculty at Mississippi State since 1970.
A member of the Mississippi Technology Education Association and Mississippi Association of Vocational Educators, Brook serves as a consultant and provides technical assistance to numerous school districts in Mississippi. He also provides consultant services to various state, national and international corporations and companies such as Apple Computer and Voyager Learning Systems.
He received degrees from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, the University of Wisconsin and Mississippi State.
As the new department head, Brook will be responsible for providing administration and leadership for the department, and for overall system development and implementation of computer-based information, communication and processing systems.
