A tribute for a retiring accounting executive and Mississippi State alumnus is bringing more than $300,000 to the School of Accountancy.
The H. Devon "Von" Graham Jr.-Arthur Andersen Accounting Excellence Endowment Fund is made possible by donations from colleagues and friends who attended a recent dinner in his honor. The donations include matching gifts from Arthur Andersen LLP.
Graham, a Batesville native and 1956 accounting graduate living in Houston, Texas, retires this summer after nearly 40 years with the worldwide accounting firm.
"Von Graham has interviewed, hired, mentored, and advised more Mississippi State accounting students over the years than any other individual," said Dora Herring, professor emerita and retired director of the accounting school. "In addition, he has returned to campus to deliver lectures and he has supported us financially."
