

Warren Housley, counselor education and educational psychology, is the new president of the national Association for Spiritual, Ethical and Religious Values in Counseling organization.
A 26-year member of Mississippi State's faculty, Housley also served as department head for 11 years. His duties include presiding at a national board of directors meeting this fall in New Orleans and a general meeting of the association's leadership at the World Conference of American Counseling Association in Indianapolis in 1998.
Founded in the early 1950s, the 5,000-member ASERVIC is a professional organization headquartered in Alexandria, Va. Its mission is to create a conducive and nurturing environment for the exploration, research and discussion of spiritual, ethical and religious values affecting the counselor's personal and professional life.
