Linda Butler honored by regional organization

Linda D. Butler, public relations specialist with the Meridian Campus, was honored during the Southern Public Relations Federation's recent annual conference.

Butler won the Lantern Award of Excellence for the 1996 Salute to MSU-Meridian in the newspaper category.

The 23rd annual Lantern Awards honor the year's top public relations achievements in a four-state area.

In addition to her responsibilities at MSU-Meridian, Butler serves as an ambassador for the East Mississippi Business Development Corp., where she was named 1995-96 Ambassador of the Year for her community service work.

She is also a member of the Public Relations Association of Mississippi-Meridian chapter.
