The College of Forest Resources was honored with the first Nonindustrial Private Forest Education Award for its forestry extension program.
The National Woodland Owners Association, in cooperation with the National Association of Professional Forestry Schools and Colleges, presented what will become an annual award at the Society of American Foresters meeting.
The new award recognizes the forestry education group delivering the most effective program benefitting nonindustrial private forest and/or woodland owners.
The selection committee was made up of NWOA and NAPFSC members from states without nominated programs.
