As part of a month-long celebration of women, public programs on topics ranging from sexuality to career development are scheduled throughout March. One program, "Options: Choices for Women in the '90s and Beyond," is dedicated to the late Cindy Rose, a curriculum and instruction professor who died in 1996. Rose had served as chair of the President's Commission on the Status of Women, sponsor of the month's events.
A panel of five will discuss life choices during the March 18 program. Following the presentations, a dialogue between the panelists and audience will be encouraged to further explore the topic. It is set for 4 p.m. in Simrall auditorium.
The presenters include Lesia Crumpton, an associate professor of industrial engineering; Cecilia Reese Bullock of Jackson, owner of Historical Replications Inc.; Meg Hargrove, occupational therapist at the Columbus Therapy and Sports Medicine Clinic; Carolyn Katz, a retired Starkville businesswoman who last year became MSU's oldest graduate; and Susan Tomlinson, a former associate professor of horticulture at the university who now is at home raising three young children.
Nancy D. Hargrove, a member of the English department faculty and a Giles Distinguished Professor, will serve as moderator.
The University Honors, Schillig Scholars and Women Studies programs also are sponsors of the panel discussion.
