Engineer is major editor for new text

An engineering faculty member has a major role in the release of a new publication on manufacturing product and process design.

Dr. John M. Usher, associate professor of industrial engineering, is the lead editor for "Integrated Product and Process Development: Methods, Tools, and Technologies." Co-editors are Utpal Roy of Syracuse University and Hamid Parsaei of the University of Louisville.

The text is part of a new series on engineering design and automation published by Wiley-Interscience, a leading publisher in the science and technology field.

The 14-chapter book reports on the work and experience of 38 researchers and manufacturing industry practitioners around the world.

Usher, who joined the MSU faculty in 1989, holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and master's and doctoral degrees from Louisiana State University.
