

Motivational speaker Fran Taylor Powers will conduct a half-day seminar and address a luncheon that culminates March's celebration of women.
On March 31, Powers will lead a seminar, "Seek Your Passion and Make It Happen," in the Bost Extension theater, 8:30-11:30 a.m. In addition to Powers, guest participants include Jackson's Gail Pittman, potter and owner of Gail Pittman Pottery; Tammy Craddock of Columbus, entrepreneur and owner of Jubilations Cheesecakes; and Dr. Elvalee Banks, president of Mary Holmes College in West Point.
Following the seminar, the Celebration of Women luncheon is scheduled noon-1:30 p.m. in the Bost Extension Theater. Powers will speak on "Share Your Strengths."
A resident of Tampa, Fla., Powers has spent the past 20 years as a theater teacher, corporate trainer and manager. Before founding Fran Taylor Powers Inc., she served as executive director of the Alpha House of Tampa, an agency serving women in need.
She has a bachelor's degree in theater arts from Fontbonne College in St. Louis and a master's in education from the University of South Florida.
Powers' appearance is sponsored by the President's Commission on the Status of Women and Deposit Guaranty National Bank.
The seminar registration fee, which includes the luncheon, is $15. Luncheon tickets alone are $9. Because of limited seating, tickets must be purchased by March 25.
