The Division of Information Systems and User Support designed the Help Desk as the first level of support to answer computer questions or solve problems for faculty, staff and students. If Help Desk consultants can't solve the problem, they will forward it on to the proper unit for resolution.
Persons with computer-related problems or computer service requests may call the Help Desk at 325-0631, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-7 p.m., come by 46 Magruder St., 8 a.m.-5 p.m., or send e-mail to <helpdesk@msstate.edu>.
Telephone calls will be monitored by caller I.D. to match the telephone number with information in the university's faculty, staff and student data base. If the caller's number is not found, his or her social security number will be requested and another match will be attempted.
Persons e-mailing the Help Desk must type the words "Open Call" in the subject line of the message. The message's body should contain a description of the problem.
World Wide Web access to the desk is expected in the future.
