CVM open house set for April 3, 4


Students at the College of Veterinary Medicine will hold their 14th annual open house April 3 and 4 at the Wise Center.

The theme of the open house is "A Proud History, A Bright Future." 1998 marks the 24th year since the College of Veterinary Medicine was established by the Legislature.

On schedule for the open house are a petting zoo, tours of the hospital complex and educational exhibits. CVM faculty and students will be on hand to answer questions about health care for large and small animals.

Live animal demonstrations will include working sheep dogs, police dogs and dog obedience. The public also can see draft animals, horse shoeing and sheep shearing. Special exhibits on wild and pet birds, and reptiles will be available during the open house. Demonstrations on aquarium medicine will take place each day.

Open house begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. both days. Admission is free.
