Evaluate research candidates on web

An electronic evaluation form is available on the World Wide Web for input on vice president for research candidates. Interviews for the position conclude April 1.

"We would like to have input from everyone who is interested and the electronic forms will allow feedback from those who didn't get a paper form at one of the interviews," explained Dr. Glenn Steele, search committee chair.

The last of the five candidates, Dr. Robert W. Whalin, director of the U.S. Army Engineers Waterways Experiment Station in Vicksburg, is interviewing this week.

Other candidates, including two from the first round of interviews last fall, are:

• Dr. Robert A. Altenkirch, former dean of engineering at MSU and now professor and dean of the College of Engineering and Architecture at Washington State University;

• Dr. Dennis W. Duke, director of the Supercomputer computations Research Institute at Florida State University;

• Dr. Donald L. Durham, technical/deputy director, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command, Stennis Space Center; and

• Dr. Melvin C. Ray, acting vice president for research at Mississippi State.
