Two Mississippi State publications were honored with awards from a local group of advertising and public relations professionals.
"Report of the President 1997: Leadership for 21st Century Mississippi" received an ADDY in the Annual Reports category of the 1997 American Advertising Awards competition sponsored by the Golden Triangle Advertising Federation.
The publication highlights the university's accomplishments during the year and summarizes financial revenue and expenditures.
The four-color, 24-page report was produced by the Office of University Relations, in conjunction with the Office of Comptroller and Treasurer.
A special tribute to retired Mississippi State president Donald W. Zacharias was twice honored. "Foundations for the Future: The Zacharias Years 1985-1997" won both the Judge's Choice Award and a first place ADDY in the Announcement category of the annual competition.
The program, which highlights Zacharias' career in words and pictures, was produced by the university's Office of University Relations, with assistance from Carolyn Cooper & Associates in Columbus.
