Program: East European Studies Short-Term Grants

Offers short-term support (one month) for scholars with a particular need for library, archival, and other specialized resources located in Washington, DC. Award is limited to advanced graduate and postdoctoral scholars in East European studies. Scholars will reside in Washington, DC and forego other academic and professional obligations for the grant period. Stipend is $80 per day for up to 30 days. Program: Tech. and Media for Indiv. With Disabilities: Steppingstones of Tech. Innovation

Supports projects utilizing an innovative, technology-based approach to improve literacy for students with disabilities; access to the general curriculum; or accountability and participation in education reform for students with disabilities. Technology-based approaches must be conducted in one of the following areas: development and refinement, research and evaluation, or implementation and validation. Program: Community Outreach Partnership Centers Program

Awards grants to institutions to support centers that conduct research on problems (including housing, health care, crime, education and training, and economic development) in large and small cities and facilitate partnerships and outreach activities between IHEs, local communities and local governments. Supports research broadly related to cardiovascular function and disease or to similar fundamental problems. Funding is available in all basic disciplines, such as physiology, biochemistry, and pathology, as well as for epidemiological and clinical investigations that are related to cardiovascular problems. Supports research and fellowships on the interrelationships of environmental biology from individual organisms to complex ecological systems.
