BellSouth representative Kim Mulkey (left) was on campus recently to visit with faculty and staff participating in a university-Smithsonian Institution partnership supported by the foundation. Cheryl Whitfield (center), curriculum designer for the university's Center for Education and Training Technology, and Mabel Murphree, an instructor in technology and education, explain a web site developed in cooperation with the Smithsonian's Natural Museum of Natural History. BellSouth has contributed $250,000 to a Mississippi State/Smithsonian initiative to move museum collections and educational materials to electronic resources such as the World Wide Web.
