The 13th annual Super Bulldog Weekend-April 24-26-gets under way with the annual pig cooking contest, an International Fiesta, a book fair, and sporting events.
The pig cooking contest begins on Friday, April 24, at 8 a.m. between the Bryan Building and Humphrey Coliseum. Participants will be judged on Saturday, April 25, at 9 a.m.
The eighth annual International Fiesta begins Saturday at 10 a.m. on the Drill Field. Activities include a 10 a.m. parade of nations, a 10:30 a.m. welcome and an 11 a.m. cultural and musical program. At 1 p.m. games begin, including the breaking of the pinata before the fiesta concludes at 2 p.m.
Also on Saturday, Friends of the MSU Libraries is sponsoring its third annual Book Fair at Mitchell Memorial Library. Highlights include tours of the library, displays from various university departments and outdoor activities. The Book Fair is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Of course, if it's Super Bulldog Weekend, there must be an athletic event somewhere on campus.
This year, the baseball team takes on Georgia with games set for Friday at 6:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. The women's softball team plays Mississippi on Saturday at noon and the fourth-ranked men's tennis team volleys with Middle Tennessee State at 1 p.m.
