For Mitchell Memorial Library, a fall motto may be "have information, will travel."
Teams of librarians and staff members are going into departments to provide information about new resources available for teaching and research, said associate dean for public services Susanna J. Turner.
"We want to establish information partnerships with the campus, and provide helpful information about programs and services," she explained.
Eight teams of Mitchell Memorial Library staff members are making 15-minute presentations during initial visits to departments, and are available for longer sessions or one-on-one consultation, Turner said.
As part of the outreach effort, the teams want to arrange regular meetings with academic departments. "We're especially interested in introducing new faculty members to the resources of the libraries, but we want to make sure that all faculty members are familiar with opportunities available to them," she concluded.
