SPA announces staff appointments, additions


Over the past year, the Office of Sponsored Programs Administration has been in the process of re-structuring its staff organization.

Following are the appointments and additions to SPA:

Matt K. Ronning has been named SPA director. He previously was sponsored programs administrator, working primarily with faculty and staff from the Division of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine. Ronning came to MSU from Washington State University where he was assistant director of grants and research development.

Tina Henson currently holds the position of sponsored programs administrator where she works primarily with faculty and staff from the College of Arts and Sciences, Centers and Institutes and the Mississippi Research Consortium. Henson has been with SPA since 1992. She also has held previous positions with the College of Veterinary Medicine and the Office of the Comptroller.

Sheri Johnson is now sponsored programs specialist and concentrates on the College of Education and the Social Science Research Center. Johnson has been with SPA since 1997. Previously, she worked with the College of Education.

Robyn B. Remotigue has been appointed sponsored programs administrator, working primarily with faculty and staff from the College of Engineering. Previously, Remotigue was sponsored programs development specialist and regulatory compliance officer for the MSU Institutional Review Board.

Libby Thompson is sponsored programs administrator where she works primarily with faculty and staff from the Division of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine. Thompson previously was an accountant with SPA.

Lynda Tuck has been appointed coordinator of special projects. She previously was a sponsored programs administrator where she worked primarily with the College of Engineering.

Lynn Randle has been appointed development specialist and regulatory compliance officer for the Institutional Review Board. She has been with SPA since June. Previously, Randle served as a legal assistant for the university counsel.

Mary Ann Richardson is SPA coordinator. She joined SPA in June. Previously, she worked with the Department of Political Science.

Dana Karmacharya is sponsored programs assistant where she aids with proposal operations as well as serving as the data management supervisor. Previously, she worked as an SPA accountant.

Nancy Ray has been appointed sponsored programs assistant where she helps with Institutional Review Board operations and development. She joined SPA in 1997. Previously, Ray worked with the Department of Aerospace Engineering.

These new appointments and additions should help the Office of Sponsored Programs Administration better serve Mississippi State faculty and staff in its efforts to obtain external funding for research, education and service.
