Community of Science
Community of Science is the technology-driven publisher of web-based information products and services designed to support and advance the scientific and scholarly communication process.
COS applies powerful, next-generation technologies to speed the creation and delivery of scientific and scholarly information, facilitates the workflow and management of that information, and, in turn, helps define new channels of communications.
In the process, COS empowers individuals and institutions to convene on the web to interact, communicate and share their findings in a secure, organized environment.
COS Expertise
COS Expertise is the premier database of first-person profiles of the researchers at leading research universities and other institutions involved in basic or applied research. It provides comprehensive detailed information about their skills, background and accomplishments.
This information, supplied by researchers and verified by their institutions, enables persons to identify peer reviewers and collaborators; stay current with basic science and academic research; locate individuals who possess the needed expertise; and provide information to peers and prospective collaborators, as well as funding sources.
The MSU campus can now access Community of Science by accessing the SPA home page <http://www.msstate.edu/Dept/SPA/>.
SPA also encourages persons to add/update COS Expertise profiles as soon as possible. For assistance, please call 325-7404.
