

Dr. Richard C. Miller was re-elected to the Public Employees' Retirement Systems of Mississippi board of trustees for a six-year term beginning Jan. 1.
Miller, chief of pediatric surgery and associate dean of the University of Mississippi Medical Center, defeated MSU's Dr. George Verrall for the slot. Miller received 3,481 IHL employees' votes to 2,586 for Verrall, head of the Department of Finance and Economics at MSU.
Miller represents IHL employees on the 10-member PERS board. They include the state treasurer, one gubernatorial appointee, two retirees, two state employees, and one representative each of IHL, public schools and community colleges, municipalities, and counties.
