

The Graduate School recently awarded 15 Recruitment Assistance Grants to academic units with graduate programs for the fall semester.
The grants-ranging from $200 to $500-are used to supplement student-recruiting efforts for master's and doctoral degree programs by allowing faculty members to travel or develop recruiting literature.
"We initiated the Recruitment Assistance Grant Program in 1991 and decided to establish a model that involved the participation of graduate faculty in our recruitment efforts," explained graduate Dean Richard D. Koshel.
"This model has worked extremely well for us in that the Graduate School has continued to enjoy moderate enrollment increases during this period of time. The other academic deans, in many instances, also have supplemented these recruitment efforts.
"Overall, this initiative has been quite successful," Koshel added.
The program is funded by an annual allocation from the graduate application fees paid by out-of-state and international applicants.
