

Mississippi State opens the 1999 baseball season Feb. 10 with "The First Pitch," the second annual preseason fan fest beginning at 5 p.m. in the Bost Extension Center auditorium.
In addition to a "Meet The Players" reception, the program will feature best-selling author and MSU alumnus John Grisham as the master-of-ceremonies.
Former Bulldog player and major league baseball player and coach Alex Grammas will be a special guest at the reception.
A tribute to former MSU baseball coach Paul Gregory also is planned.
Tickets for the reception are $20 apiece, and may be purchased at the Athletic Ticket Office. "First Pitch" tickets also may be ordered over the phone with an approved credit card by calling 325-2600. Ticket office hours in the Bryan Athletic Administration Building are 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
MSU opens its 1999 baseball season Feb. 13 against the University of North Carolina Charlotte at 1 p.m. at Dudy Noble Field/Polk-DeMent Stadium.
