

Dr. Leslie E. Bauman, professor of physics and astronomy, and Student Association President Brad Sweet are among 76 outstanding students and faculty members who will receive special recognition from the state Legislature Feb. 16.
The honor is part of the 12th annual HEADWAE program sponsored by the Legislature and supported by the state's corporate community, along with the Mississippi Humanities Council.
HEADWAE-Higher Education Appreciation Day/Working for Academic Excellence-was established by the Legislature in 1988 to honor individual academic achievement and the overall contribution of the state's public and private institutions of higher learning.
