A comedy that examines the nature of love and relationships takes the stage here Feb. 23.

The National Shakespeare Co. production of Williams Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew" begins at 7:30 p.m. in Lee Hall auditorium.

The play is the fourth program in the sponsoring Lyceum's 1998-99 performing arts series. The University Honors Program is a co-sponsor.

The National Shakespeare Co. cast of 'The Taming of the Shrew'
Long recognized as a rollicking, bawdy comedy, "Shrew" details a battle of wills between two independent individuals-the high-spirited, headstrong Kate and the determined Petruchio.

Tickets for the performance are $6 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and $3 for children 3-12 and are available at the door.

The next Lyceum Series program is a March 24 musical and dramatic presentation by the CORE Ensemble of the life and times of talented African Americans who helped shape the Harlem Renaissance-"Of Ebony Embers."

Completing the season is the Los Angeles Piano Quartet. The ensemble will combine music for violin, viola, cello, and piano in an April 13 appearance.
