Architecture offering compact disc

The School of Architecture is commemorating its 25th anniversary with a compact disc featuring dozens of photographs from the school's past and several minutes of video featuring students' computer-aided designs.

The CD was created primarily as a memento for alumni and friends, according to architecture dean John McRae.

It resembles an electronic yearbook with group portraits of graduating classes since 1989 and numerous photos of students and faculty at work and at play. Corporate and individual sponsors of the school's silver anniversary observance also are listed.

The CD was produced by the University Television Center.

Copies were available to participants at 25th anniversary events and are available from the school for $10 by calling (662) 325-2202.

The School of Architecture has grown into a national leader in architectural education. It was among the first in the nation to fully incorporate computer design and virtual reality technology into the undergraduate curriculum.

The school's Small Town Center was established in 1979 to focus on preservation and enhancement of small town life.
