Don't toss that old letterhead, envelopes

On April 19, the northern half of Mississippi began using the new 662 area code and that number should be used when ordering new office stationery or business cards.

But, don't throw out that old letterhead yet. A yearlong grace period allows Mississippians to use both the 662 and 601 codes until May 1, 2000, when 662 becomes mandatory. Offices have time to use up current inventories before ordering replacements.
