Professor emeritus named national fellow


Professor Emeritus of History Dr. Roy V. Scott was named a national Fellow in the Agricultural History Society.

The honor is based on scholarly achievement in the field and service to the society.

Scott, who retired last year, was named a Giles Distinguished Professor in 1987. He joined the MSU faculty in 1960 and is the author, co-author or editor of numerous books on the agrarian movement, railroads and economic development, and agricultural extension. Scott received a bachelor's degree from Iowa State University, and a master's and doctorate from the University of Illinois.

The AHS was founded in 1919 to stimulate interest in, promote the study of, and facilitate research and publication in the history of agriculture.
