

Harness racing, a United Way auction, a country music concert, and the grand opening of MSU's AgriCenter are just a few of the activities kicking off the first Golden Triangle Regional Fair Aug. 25-28.
The family-oriented fair will be held at the recently opened AgriCenter, located on Poorhouse Road three miles south of the intersection of Highway 12 and South Montgomery Street. The grand opening ceremony is scheduled for the 25th at 6:30 p.m.
Singer Joe Diffie, whose song "A Night to Remember" is No. 6 on the country music charts, will perform in a Thursday night (26th) concert.
In addition, there will be a special auction to benefit the United Way, Aug. 25, 7 p.m., in the indoor arena. Items for the auction were contributed by area businesses and proceeds will go to United Way member agencies. For further information on the auction, telephone (662) 323-3830.
Daily activities include a petting zoo and pony rides; midway amusement rides, open 5:30-10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 6-10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday; arts and crafts bazaar and exhibits; harness racing; and concessions.
