

Three more events in the continuing Hearin Biotechnology Project Seminar Series are planned for Sept. 13 and 14.
The first seminar, "Glyco-Biotechnology: Producing Mammalian-type Glycoproteins in Insect Cells," will feature Dr. Alan Wood, a virologist from the Boyce Thompson Institute and adjunct professor of entomology at Cornell University. The session is set for 10-11 a.m. in the E.W. Stafford Auditorium of the Clay Lyle Entomology Complex.
Wood also will conduct the second seminar, "AgriVarion Inc., A Biotechnology Company from Then and Now: Startup to the Present." It will be held 10-11 a.m. in the Tait-Butler Auditorium of the Wise Center.
Dr. Raymond Zilinskas will conduct a third seminar on Sept. 27-29. Zilinskas is a senior scientist at the Center for Nonproliferation Studies at the Monterey Institute of International Studies in Washington, D.C., and adjunct associate professor at Johns Hopkins University. A time is yet to be confirmed.
