Mark Applebaum Trio

A mid-September concert by the Mark Applebaum Trio will be the first such event broadcast live on the World Wide Web.

The Sept. 14 "All Jazz Concert" is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. [Look for the URL in the announcements section of the MSU news page <www.ur.msstate.edu/news/>].

For those who plan to attend, the concert takes place in the McComas Hall theater. Admission is $5 for the general public; $3 for faculty, staff and students.

The Mark Applebaum Trio is composed of MSU's Applebaum on piano, Dr. London Branch from Jackson State University on contrabass and MSU graduate student Chad Anderson on drums.

JSU saxophonist Darryl Reeves will be a special guest performer.

The program includes both standards and original jazz compositions, including "Over the Rainbow" by Harold Arlen and "Tornado Food" and "9 Lives" by Applebaum.
