Construction industry representatives and university officials were on hand for the Sept. 16 dedication of recently refurbished Hardy Road. Taking part in the ribbon cutting for the roadway were, from left, Mike Bogue of APAC, President Malcolm Portera, Hollis Cheek of Cheek Inc., engineering dean A. Wayne Bennett, Mississippi Asphalt Paving Association executive director Tone Garrett, Engineering Student Council president Vickie Ramsey, and Mississippi Concrete Industries Association representative Jim Overstreet. APAC and Cheek Inc. were among the construction companies providing materials for the Hardy Road project.
