Weeklong festivities set for Homecoming

Homecoming '99 gets under way this week with T-shirt sales, reunions, basketball, baseball, and, oh yeah, a football game with LSU.

Some highlights of the week are free ice cream on the Drill Field Oct. 18 and, to warm things back up, free hot chocolate Oct. 19, also on the Drill Field.

An art exhibit will be on display all week and tours of the Joe Frank Sanderson Center will be offered on Oct. 22, 23 and 24.

Other scheduled events include:

• Wednesday, Oct. 20-a "Hot Dawg Party" with $1.50 hot dogs and staff T-shirts for sale.
• Thursday, Oct. 21-Chalk Talk with members of the football coaching staff, Colvard Union lobby; and a pep rally in the Amphitheater at 6 p.m.
• Friday, Oct. 22-Maroon and White casual dress day; punt, pass and kick contest on the Drill Field; MSU Roadrunner 20-year reunion; Maroon and White baseball scrimmage; women's volleyball in Newell-Grissom; and a basketball scrimmage and autograph session, also in Newell-Grissom.
• Saturday, Oct. 23-20th annual Four-Mile Run with the Big Dawgs; library open house; alumni association open house; Homecoming court reception at the alumni center; 5 p.m. football game, with coronation at halftime; and a Black Alumni Society party in Columbus.
