MSU's Computer-Based Testing Center is offering computerized versions of standardized exams at its 54 Magruder St. location.
The computer-adaptive tests include Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), Graduate Record Exam (GRE), GRE Writing Assessment, Academic Skills Assessment of Reading,Writing and Math (PRAXIS I), and Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
CBT, part of Counseling and Testing Services, was awarded the first institutional contract to offer the tests in Mississippi through Princeton, N.J.-based Educational Testing Service.
"Due to increased demand, the CBT Center expanded last August from its original four testing stations to eight," said Dr. Linda Cox, director of counseling and testing services.
Even with the new stations, the center stays booked-up some two weeks in advance and partrons are urged to make appointments early.
The CBT Center offers the GRE, PRAXIS I and TOEFL every day of the month and the GMAT the last three weeks of each month. Appointments may be made by telephone or by visiting the center.
For more information, telephone Cox at the Counseling Center, 325-2091, or test administrator Becky Davis at 325-6610.
