Future technologies conference set

A March 1 and 2 conference jointly sponsored by the state Board of Trustees, Institutions of Higher Learning and the State Board for Community Colleges will introduce faculty members to the latest multimedia technologies for classroom instruction.

The workshop at the Gold Strike Hotel and Casino in Tunica will feature sessions dealing with legal issues in information technology, using online technology in the traditional classroom, new video applications on campus networks, and Internet2, among others.

Among presenters is Bruce Chaloux, head of the Southern Regional Education Board's Electronic Campus. Mississippi State will provide presentations on its use of streaming video and the Cooperative Extension Service computer network.

More than 350 faculty members from around the state attended last year's conference.

Faculty members interested in learning more or registering for the 2000 event can access <www.ihl.state.ms.us/> for more information.
