Brad Carter, computer science, will present "Initiating an Undergraduate Program in Software Engineering" at a workshop on developing undergraduate software engineering programs at the 2000 Conference on Software Engineering Education and Training in March in Austin, Texas.
David Dampier, computer science, will be a presenter at the workshop on real-time computing in software engineering education at the 2000 Conference on Software Engineering Education and Training in March in Austin, Texas. His paper is on "Teaching Scientific Method for Real-time Software Engineering."
Ana Maria Hernandez Lopez, foreign languages, will serve as moderator for a round-table discussion at a July international congress in Warsaw, Poland. She and eight other professors will meet in Guatemala in March to discuss their participation. In addition, Lopez is collaborating on a study that will open the discussion. The theme is "The Avant-garde and its Incidence in the Spanish American New Narrative." In addition, she will deliver five more presentations this year: Lake Tiak O'Khata; San Antonio, Texas; Antigua; Guatemala; and Spain.
Ray Vaughn, computer science, has two presentations accepted for the Department of Defense Software Technology Conference in April. "Teaching Software Engineering-Implementation of the Industrial View" is co-authored with Lana Wolfe of Electronic Data Systems; "The Provision of Security in a High Performance Computing Environment-Theory and Practice" is co-authored with Jesse Pollard of Logicon. Vaughn also is serving as workshop chairperson for the 2000 Conference on Software Engineering Education and Training in March in Austin, Texas. There he will present a paper, "A Report on Industrial Transfer of Software Engineering to the Classroom Environment."
