The carillon at the Chapel of Memories clock tower peals once again after an enforced silence of several months. The bells were turned off to prevent a further loosening of brick mortar atop the prominent campus structure. University Physical Plant officials recently determined the bells could be operated safely at a lower volume until repair work begins in a few weeks. The renovation effort will involve rebuilding the tower's top two levels down to the clock face.
