Faculty members who recently were promoted to associate professor or professor are being honored by the MSU Libraries.
The newly promoted faculty members will select Notable Academic Books, which will be added to the libraries' collection. Special bookplates will identify the books as "notable" and commemorative of the faculty members' promotions.
The special books will be chosen from the top 10 percent of some 22,000 titles reviewed annually by Choice, a publication of the Association of College and Research Libraries. Each year the editors of Choice select materials considered to represent the best scholarship available for undergraduate library collections.
