Improvisational jazz musicians will be featured as part of an April 10 fine arts exhibition closing reception at the Department of Art gallery in McComas Hall.
The musicians-Alvin Fielder of Jackson and Edward "Kidd" Jordan of New Orleans, La.-are featured in an interactive CD-ROM prepared by electronic visualization master's degree candidate Annette Woods of Starkville. Her thesis, "Improvisational Sounds: Caught in a Moment," is an interactive presentation of the duo's music over a 30-year career.
Master's candidate William "Bill" Andrews of Starkville also will have work on display. Another electronic visualization major, his work represents the culmination of a three-year study of electrostatic signals which he transformed into digital art.
Fielder and Jordan will perform during the 7-9 p.m. reception for both artists. Both exhibitions conclude April 10.
Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Sunday, 1-4 p.m. For more information, telephone 325-2970.
