MSU staff members will be able to rock around the clock-or, at least from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.-as Staff Appreciation Day 2002 promises to "Rock the Campus" May 17.
The annual event sponsored by the Professional and Support Staff Advisory Council will take place on the Drill Field. Rain site is the Perry Cafeteria. As usual, a complimentary lunch will be served 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
This year, participants are urged to dress like their favorite rock stars. Winners of the Rock Star Look-a-Like Contest take home prizes.
The "All Access Pass" included on the PSSAC campus-wide mailout must be presented by staff members to receive the free lunch. The menu features smoked chicken, pulled barbecue pork, spicy baked beans, cole slaw, chips, MSU ice cream, Sno Biz snow cones, and assorted soft drinks. No meal tickets are required to enjoy hot dogs and lemonade, available at 10:30 a.m.
A SAD highlight, the Zacharias Distinguished Staff Awards will be presented at noon.
Live entertainment will be provided by The Flames, 10 a.m.-noon, and the Wanna-Beatles will groove from 12:15 to 2 p.m.
Other activities include group photos for $1 and carnival games with prizes, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Door-prize entry forms have been mailed to all staffers. Persons completing and returning the forms will be eligible for one of the many giveaways. Gift recipients do not have to be present to win.
