Ten faculty members are awarded project grants for 2002-03 through the Humanities and Arts Research Program.
Projects were selected by a group of representatives from the colleges whose members submitted proposals. Funding varies, but up to $5,000 per project is possible.
The new recipients and their proposals include:
Richard Damms, history, "Scientists and Statesmen: Eisenhower's Science Advisers and National Security Policy, 1953-1961"; Marita Gootee, art, "CP-51 Paper Processor Wash/Dry Module for further research on The Digital Family monograph project"; Rebecca Koenigberg, music education, "Vocal Technique Clinic at the Institute of Voice Performance and Pedagogy"; Robert Long, art, "Researching Dual Fuel Sources for a Faster Firing Kiln"; Christopher Monson, architecture, "Compositional Logic in the Architecture of Frank Gehry"; Jeffrey Pappas, music education, "Choral Talk: Interviews with American Choral Conductors"; David Perkes, architecture, "Imagining a Neighborhood Sustainable House"; Michael Rice, foreign languages, "Re-reading Friedrich Torberg: A Holocaust Author in Exile"; Rosangela Yazbec Sebba, music education, "Brazilian Music Festival (Piano and Percussion)"; and Linda Seckinger, art, "The Catfish Press National Print Portfolio Exchange."
