Workshops, exhibits and research-sharing sessions are among activities scheduled June 8 during the fourth annual Regional Genealogical Fair at Mississippi State.
The 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. program also features tours of genealogical resources at the sponsoring Mitchell Memorial Library, the state's largest such information repository.
While admission is free, participants are being asked to register in advance at 325-7679 or lmueller@library.msstate.edu. Persons enrolling by June 5 may purchase box lunches.
In addition to the MSU Libraries, the fair is sponsored by the historical and genealogical societies of Clay, Choctaw and Oktibbeha counties.
This year's topics and presenters include:
--Beginning genealogy, Beth Freshour of the Noxubee County Public Library.
--Early American research, Tupelo resident Margaret J. DeMoville of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
--Tracing an African-American family, Johnnie E. Miller of the Oktibbeha County Historical and Genealogical Society.
--Reunion genealogical software for Macintosh, Lenore Griffin of the Choctaw County Historical and Genealogical Society.
--Courthouse records, David Wiggins of the Genealogical Society of Utah.
