Four invited to interview for provost

Four on-campus interviews have been scheduled in May for provost and vice president for academic affairs candidates.

According to the search and screening committee, the candidates and interview dates are as follows:

-- May 4-6: Dr. Peter W. Rabideau, dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University since 1999. He holds a 1968 doctorate in organic chemistry from Case Western Reserve University.

-- May 11-13: Dr. Cameron R. Hackney, dean of the Davis College of Agriculture, Forestry and Consumer Sciences and director of the West Virginia Experiment Station at West Virginia University since 2000. He earned a doctorate in food science at North Carolina State University in 1980.

-- May 19-21: Dr. Fred J. Maryanski, vice chancellor for academic administration at the University of Connecticut since

1997. He holds a 1974 doctorate in computer science from the University of Connecticut.

-- May 21-23: Dr. George S. Rent, associate provost at Mississippi State since 1996. He earned a doctorate in sociology at Florida State University in 1968.
