An expert on aging and public policy will present an Oct. 2 lecture in the Ellen Bryant Women's Resource Center.
Sponsored by MSU Women's Studies, Dr. Debra Street will make an hour-long presentation beginning at 4 p.m. A reception will follow her remarks. The women's center is located in the eastside lower level of Rice Residence Hall.
Street is a research scientist at the Pepper Institute on Aging and Public Policy at Florida State University. Prior to joining the institute in 2000, she was a faculty members in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Purdue University. She also is a former fellow in the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Scholars in Health Policy Research program at the University of Michigan.
She has written widely on issues related to aging and public policy, including a book, "Women, Work and Pensions," and her research has been supported by the National Science Foundation and the American Association of Retired Persons/Andrus Foundation.
Street holds a doctorate in sociology from FSU.
