Choral concert to range from classical to rock
A Nov. 1 public concert will feature four choral groups presenting classical, folk and contemporary selections.
The 7:30 p.m. program in Colvard Union ballroom is sponsored by the Music Education Department.
The 100-voice MSU Concert Choir will be joined by the smaller Chamber Choir, Women's Chorale and newly formed Men of Maroon and White. Bruce Lesley, interim director of choral activities, leads all but the Women's Chorale, which is directed by Linda Karen Smith.
Selections for the evening include Mendelssohn's "Cast Thy Burden Upon the Lord" from "Elijah"; "The Lord is My Shepherd," from John Rutter's "Requiem"; "Trois Chansons de Charles D'Orleans," by Claude Debussy; "Can't Buy Me Love," by John Lennon and Paul McCartney; and the traditional "Down in the Valley."
