Rape education program scheduled

“Kristin’s Story” will be shared at MSU when the 20-year-old college coed’s life—and death—are discussed by her mother Andrea Cooper during a March 2 presentation.

As part of a proactive rape education program funded by the Alpha Chi Omega and Delta Delta Delta foundations, Cooper will discuss her daughter’s acquaintance rape and slide into depression that ended with suicide in 1995.

The program begins at 7 p.m. in the Colvard Union ballroom.

Cooper, herself a Tri-Delta social sorority member, decided in 1998 to share Kristin’s story with Greek communities and has been traveling around the country ever since.

In addition to the speaker, each audience member may take home a participant packet developed by the Santa Monica (Calif.) Rape Treatment Center.

Cooper’s visit is co-sponsored by the MSU Panhellenic Council.
