Nominations open for Zacharias staff awards

The annual Zacharias Distinguished Staff Awards will be presented during the May 12 Staff Appreciation Day.

This year, the nomination process has changed. In an effort to simplify the process, the three one-page letters previously required of nominators have been discontinued.

Now, a newly created award form allows nominators to submit responses and/or examples of how the nominee meets the criteria established by the sponsoring Professional and Support Staff Advisory Council. Staff members will be nominated when a completed information form and three Zacharias Distinguished Staff Award nomination forms are submitted.

Awards will be presented in the six EEO categories of professional and support staff at MSU. One winner selected from each category will receive a plaque of recognition and a $1,000 check. Any MSU employee who works at least half time, has been employed a minimum of three years and is from one of the following categories is eligible.

EEO categories include: 01-Executive, Managerial, Administrative; 03-Other Professional (non-teaching); 04-Technical Paraprofessional; 05-Clerical/Secretarial; 06-Skilled Crafts; and 07-Service Maintenance.

Forms may be printed from the PSSAC Web site at http://www.pssac.msstate.edu/or obtained from the PSSAC office in Memorial Hall.

The deadline for submitting nominations is April 18. Return forms and letters to Mail Stop 9634.
