Summer camps range from robots to art
Mississippi State will again offer summer camps in athletics, arts and a variety of special topics for students in kindergarten through the 12th grade.
Camp descriptions, fees and contacts are provided via a one-stop Web site at http://www.summercamps.msstate.edu/ . The site also may be accessed through the “Summer Camps” icon on the MSU home page, www.msstate.edu.
Many coordinated by campus academic departments and athletic offices, the short-term learning opportunities will take place during June and July. Some selected programs include:
—University Familiarization Program for Minorities in Engineering, organized for students in grades nine-11 by the Bagley College of Engineering;
—Business Opportunities for Success School (BOSS Camp), designed for ninth graders by the College of Business and Industry;
—Design Discovery, offered by the College of Architecture, Art and Design for high school students interested in architecture or potential enrollment in the major at MSU;
—Bully Bots, a fifth and sixth grade-focused presentation by MSU’s Digital Devices Laboratory;
—Exploring the World Through Arts, an experience for first-fourth graders sponsored by the Division of Academic Outreach and Continuing Education; and
—Prissy Missies, an offering for kindergarten-third grade girls also sponsored by the Division of Academic Outreach and Continuing Education.
