As another part of the ongoing renovation effort, aeration devices recently were placed in Eckie’s Pond to increase oxygen levels. The fountain-like process helps control algae and unwanted aquatic weeds in the campus landmark. Eckie’s—the product of an 1890s horticulture demonstration project—is being restored with the assistance of private donations.
